The Association will, from time to time, conduct research into topics of interest in the maritime security domain. This research falls under the oversight of the Chief Learning Officer, who coordinates the efforts of volunteers on the project.
Those participating or contributing to this research are given unlimited access and use of the research outcome for personal or commercial purposes on the understanding that its use is at their own discretion and risk. Members of the Association that did not participate in the research may access the research free of charge for personal, and professional development and may receive a license for its unrestricted commercial use in return for a fee. The research will be made available to the public six months after it is made available to the membership for that same fee.
Participation in research requires that an individual meets at least two of the following criteria:- A master’s degree in a relevant field.
- A government or professional body license allowing them to practice in the field.
- At least seven years of operational experience in the field.
Students may participate in the research project as part of any internship or academic work experience program overseen by a post-secondary institution.
